Brazil kits World Cup 1986

Classic topper manufacturer kit, Brazil didn't played with away kit during the tournament, vs Spain they dressed a combination of home shirt and away short.

Hungary kits World Cup 1986

Classic and elegant Hungary kit, but in the field they took 11 goals in three games.

France kits World Cup 1986

This team probably was the most talented french team, Certainly was in this years the most famous team, i think that's why adidas made unique details to distinguish this France team like socks stripes, jersey big stripe and short.

Soviet Union kits World Cup 1986

I remembered thinking... it's a matter of time that this guys will win the WC, that CCCP big sign in the chest just saying DON'T MESS WITH ME....i love it, and of course.... the badge, those elements was just mean. Oh! almost forgot, white short for home and away kits with just a little difference... Crazy!!

Iraq kits World Cup 1986

This was the only occasion that the Iraqi team wore these colors, for some reason that i don't know yellow and light blue was chosen by Iraq for his first participation in a World Cup.

Belgium kits World Cup 1986

The red devils wore a red/white traditional colors, as a good detail we can see Belgium flag in the adidas stripes, but for me adidas had a mistake with the away socks, just didn't follow the pattern.

Paraguay kits World Cup 1986

Paraguay worn for all games his traditional home jersey, only in the game vs England (round of 16) worn a white short. I'm sure that they has a white shirt for away kit, but i can´t find reliable proof of it.

Mexico kits World Cup 1986

Since 1984 the German brand Adidas was in charge of dressing the Mexican National Team and it was in 1986 that the first three stripes appeared in the white sleeves, characteristic of the sports brand. Levi's was the former jersey sponsor and curious thing has sleeve stripes too, but looks like 5 of them. Mexico stayed in the quarter-finals against Germany.

South Korea kits World Cup 1986

South Korea made their first appearance since 1954. They managed to score their first goal (against Argentina) and their first draw (against Bulgaria). They never played with blue kit in this tournament. Somebody knows the name of this manufacturer?

Bulgaria kits World Cup 1986

This bulgarian team had a notable note about their kit, during the World Cup 1986 they played with kits with fabric texture and kits without it, even played with striped shorts and no striped shorts in the same game vs Mexico in round of 16.

England kits World Cup 1986

Umbro begin with the edge in this years, they had very strong design and good looking kits and of course England team was his canvas platform. England did not used red kit in World Cup, instead used a combination of third kit shorts and socks (light blue) and home jersey to played with Argentina, the rest of the matches played with home kit.

Poland kits World Cup 1986

We found a curious thing in this adidas kit, take a look on the short and you will find different position for the numbers, and this is not the only one rare thing... at list player number 18 (C. Pawlak) vs England in the World Cup played with the number on the right side, the rest of his teamates played with the number on the left side.

Italy kits World Cup 1986

Classic and remembered Italian kits, somebody knows why during the World Cup this kits do not have diadora logo?

Canada kits World Cup 1986

Canada dressed a brand new pattern on shirt by adidas, but the alignment between adidas logo and federation logo are very bad, Came on adidas!, federation logo very small too my taste. What i like always is the big Canada brand on chest with star wars type font.

Argentina kits World Cup 1986

This is a world famous Argentinian kit, i saw Maradona dressed this one and won the WC. This pair of kits has trouble with the badge (different to one kit to another), another proof that in those years, merchandising and publicity was in diapers.

Morocco kits World Cup 1986

Two times for Morocco in World Cup finals and both times in Mexico '70 and '86. Adidas was his sponsor and we saw a uncommon horizontal logo usage and adidas logo on the shorts with no letters.

East Germany kits Euro 1988 Qualifying

DDR team dressed his classical colors during qualification stage for the Euro 1988. At least for the games vs France (1986) and Iceland (1987) the white shirt logo shows in the middle of the chest,I found some pictures of the original shirt and logo is as shown here. If you look into the home and away colors for this team, normally you'll find that the blue shirt is home, but in 1987 and 1988 East Germans played with the white shirt as home. Can somebody tell us more about this?

Scotland kits Euro 1988 Qualifying

I've always liked Scottish umbro kits, is the perfect mix of color and elegance. Another sample of that is the home and away kits that Scotland dressed in Euro qualifying games during 5 games in 1987.

Spain kits Euro 1988

This is Spain that dressed this Lecoq kit in Euro 88, they only played with the red one, but seems that they liked it very much, same kit for WC 1990.

Germany kits Euro 1988

As many people know, there is two teams that do not change kits between one tournament to another, this happened in Euro 1988 with Germany with this iconical kit that repeat again exactly in WC 1990. Germans do not win nothing with this kit but instead is probably the most remembered shirt for the teutons. The other team....Spain, same tournaments.

Portugal kits Euro 1988 Qualifying

Portugal opened qualifying round with the 1986 kit but one year after upgrading his previous kit, Portugal changed only the shirt, we never saw the white kit in this drawing because they only played with the red one in 1987.

Switzerland kits World Cup 1986 Qualifying

Swiss team uses a big logo in his chest, during the qualification round to the WC 1986 those were the kits that adidas sponsor.

Switzerland kits Euro 1988 Qualifying

Well in this Swiss kit we have very peculiar singularities, as the strange adidas logo in the chest and the adidas icon in socks that in those years wasn't a common thing. I can't find a picture of the away shorts only have a youtube reference for the game vs italy (1986) in this game the Swiss team played with the red short but the shirt was another one different in this drawing. Switzerland changed their jersey until 1987 qualifying games.

Republic of Ireland kits Euro 1988

First Euro for the Irish and they presented with a traditional no pattern adidas kit, with a Houghton goal irish team won his first game vs England and then tied 1-1 with USSR, besides 3 points on board they can't made the following level.

Soviet Union kits Euro 1988

Well another variant of the controversial adidas wild design, this time in RED. But only used by USSR team once vs England. For many the best team ever of a CCCP football.

England kits Euro 1988

England played all his matches (3) with the white kit during the competition, and also played with this one during 1987 qualifying round, The red kit (away) was seen in february 1988 in a friendly game in Tel Aviv vs Israel. A 3rd one i know that exist (light blue shirt with blue navy neck) but unfortunately I did not find reliable images of short and socks of this last one to illustrate.

Netherlands kits Euro 1988

This kit is special for dutch guys and historic one too, represents the first championship of his history, Is hard to visualize players like Van Basten, Gullit, Rijkaard, etc. in other kit, but besides all of that for me this pattern is one of the adidas wildest ever, is like "Oh! we discover the sublimation technique, let's go crazy with the patterns" I would not have surprised a photograph of a Dutch windmill, mmm maybe yes.
